BOSTON, MA.— In a bold move that has left many in Boston's burgeoning music scene stunned, local upstarts Four Point Restraints have decided to compete directly with Boston punk legends The Dropkick Murphys' time-honored St. Paddy's Day tradition of playing sold-out hometown shows. As DKM play TD Garden on Friday, 4PR will be playing the newly-christened South Shore Music Hall in Quincy's illustrious Center. Likewise, on Saturday, while the Murphys play Brighton Music Hall, the Restraints will be hunkered down in the Charlestown pub, Tavern at the End of the World, playing a more intimate acoustic show to a couple of lucky fans. Exactly how drastically this will affect the draw of the Murphys string of shows this weekend has yet to be determined. Members of the Dropkick Murphys could not be reached for comment, most likely speechless due to shock.
